Learn how to play Battle of Gods
The following tutorial aims to immerse the player in the world of Battle of Gods. We will present you the basic concepts of the game and progress to its more complex aspects.
The Settlement

Presented above is the Humans settlement. All settlements have the same functionality, the only difference is the graphic display of each settlement and the uniqueness of each race's units. Each number is described below:
1 - represents the graphical overview of the settlement. This will change as you progressively build up your settlement;
2 - shows the current hero that is docked in the settlement. This space is empty if no hero is visiting the settlement;
3 - are the "settlement slots". When you recruit units, this is the place where they will appear at first. From here you can distribute them to your hero;
4 - these are the "hero slots", where you can actually manage your heroes army. Notice our hero now has 16 Knights in his army;
5 - the "Leave Town" button enables your hero to leave the settlement and go into the "Exploration" part of the game;
6 - when clicked the "Split Army" button enables you to split your units stacks, both from the hero and settlement. When clicked, all free slots will get highlighted. Just drag a unit slot to a free slot to activate the split screen.

Now you can just drag the scrollbar to split your desired stack. When satisfied with the split groups, just click "Accept".
The slot where you selected to split will be automatically populated with your split quantities;
7 - to develop your settlement you can click on the "Build Town" button. This will show another screen, where you can build up your settlement;
8 - if a hero is docked in the settlement the Leadership icon and quantity will appear. This represents the free/max available leadership that your hero has. Each unit has a leadership cost, so you can only take a limited ammount of army with you. The leadership of your hero will increase with each level gained and also from special items;
9 - your settlement produces 4 basic resourses: Gold, Food, Wood and Stone. These are required to build up your settlement and also recruit new units. The line marked with "9" displays the resources gained each hour;
10 - this line notifies you if any hero is visiting the settlement and also displays the settlements name;
11 - is a Training building. In this case it's the Humans Training Grounds. Training buildings , when clicked, will present a special recruitment window, presented below.
On the left side all of the unit's stats are presented,
and on the right an image of the unit that is being recruited. Each training building has a hourly production of units that are become available to be recruited. This is considered an "Available" unit. If you drag the slider to the right, you're actually determining a quantity of enlisted units. You can also see the costs involved in recruiting your enlisted units. When satisfied with the selection, click on "Recruit Units" button to recruit those units. The newly recruited units will appear in your settlement slots. If you want to recruit the maximum available units, just click on "Maximum" and then "Recruit Units";
12 - is a special Building, considered also the "Building for Heroes". This is the place where you can see the status of your heroes and also ressurect them in case they fall in battle;
The Buildings screen
One of the most important aspects of the game is how you develop your settlement buildings. To access your building screen click on the "Build Town" icon from your settlement screen.

Presented above is a schematic of the buildings screen. The items are described below:
1 - shows the level of the building;
2 - displays the name of the building;
3 - there are three types of buildings: Production buildings (that increase the number of resources gained each hour), Training buildings (that allow you to recruit units) and Special buildings (described from the top to bottom follow below):
- s1 - enables you to resurect fallen heroes and also recruit new heroes;
- s2 - each level of this building will increase the food production by a percentage;
- s3 - a building where you can trade in your resources for other resources;
- s4 - increases your settlements capacity of storing resources;
- s5 - increases the hourly production of units and the total storage capacity of units;
- s6 - will enable the research of spells;
4 - under each building image there is a color strip. This color strip represents the build state of that building. Green is shown if a building can be built on resources and all the requirements have been met. Red shows a building that does not meet the required resources and/or requirements. Brown displays a building that is currently being constructed. A grey building is one that cannot be built yet;
5 - shows the time left until a building is completely built;
6 - displays the name of the selected building;
7 - shows the description of what the building will do;
8 - this is the Estimated Time to Build (ETB), meaning how time it takes to build the selected building;
9 - if a training building is selected, the stats of the unit are going to be displayed here;
10 - you need to build these buildings before beeing able to construct the selected one;
11 - shows the required resources needed in order to build the selected building. If one of the resource requirements is not met, it will display in red. If the requirements are met, click on Build to start the construction;
12 - an alternative build is available. This cost is represented in an offering of diamonds to your ruling God. The buildings that are built with diamonds are instantly built, if the gods are pleased with your offering;
13 - you can return anytime to your Settlement screen by clicking on "Return to Settlement".

Exploration

Exploring worlds, battling fearfull monsters and finishing challenging quests are a big part of Battle of Gods. Learning to explore the maps is a vital part of the game. To understand each action on the map better, below is a listing of most used features:
1 - this is your hero. Click anywhere on the map to move your hero to that position;
2 - these are monsters. Monsters can take many shapes and each monster has different stats. When you click on a monster, the stats of that monster will appear in 8. To engage in combat, click twice on a monster. Make sure you study the monster first before attacking it, so your army losses are kept to a minimum;
3 - this represents a Non Playing Character (NPC). NPC's are characterized by having a exclamation mark above their heads. They usually ask you to perform different quests for them, or will sell you items. It's a good choice to finish the quests that the NPC gives you, as there are often great rewards involved;
4 - the lightly colored rhombuses on the map represent swaps. Click on these to move your hero over them and go to the next map;
5 - this represents your hero and his army, same display as in the heroes screen;
6 - the experience bar shows the current experience your hero has from a total of experience needed to advance to the next level;
7 - the stamina bar shows the ammount of actions your hero can perform on the map. To move your hero on the map, for each step one stamina is needed. To engage in combat with a monster 5 stamina is deducted from the total;
8 - just like the hero and his army, monsters have the same display, which makes it very easy to organize your army and study your enemy. You can also see the "Power" of the monster stack, which represents the power of a monster stack. Roll over the monsters in the stack to see their stats;
9 - to keep an easier track of your quests, the hero is equipped with a quest book. Click on this icon to open that questbook and study your undergoing/completed quests;
10 - the "Teleport Hero to Settlement" button is a quick way to dock your hero in the settlement and replenish his troops. Each teleport costs 5 stamina, so use it wisely;
11 - when you posses the minimap to a world, your hero displays in the minimap, so you know rougly a position of the hero on the world. To move the minimap, just click&drag the minimap around;
12 - this shows the current world your hero is in and also your position on the map;
The combat screen

When the hero engages in combat with a monster group (double-clicks the monster in exploration), the combat screen appears. The basic functionality of the combat screen is explained below:
1 - when the yellow aura appears under a unit/monster it means that it's that units/monsters turn. Also the current's unit action grid (3) will appear;
2 - if you move your mouse over a monster in battle during your turn, the monsters action grid (4) will appear. Also the stats of that monster will appear at the bottom of the screen;
3 - this is the units action grid. It shows how much your unit can move. If a monster is in the range of your action grid, you'll be able to perform an attack (if your unit is not ranged);
4 - this is the monsters action grid. Just like the units action grid, it shows how much a monster is able to move;
5 - represented with a darker color is the intersection of the unit and monster action grids;
6 - this is a battle object. There are many types of battle objects in the game. Their purpouse is to take up a space on the battlefield, and add to the strategy of the battle. They are randomly generated a combat is started;
7 - this button is going to activate the "Spell Book" feature which is not yet implemented;
8 - If you press "Wait", the hero/unit will wait until all the monsters take their turn and then you get your turn again. You can press "W" to ;
9 - pressing "Defend" will make the hero/unit skip the current turn;
10 - clicking on "Retreat" will enable your hero and units to flee from the current battle. It is a good solution to click it when you would normally lose all your units in a battle. By retreating around 10% of each stack of units will flee;
11 - all battle messages get displayed in this area;
To attack a group of monsters, move your mouse over the monster's tile. The attack sword will appear and also a tile will be coloured to a darker color to present the position where your unit/hero will move and perform the attack.
The last part will feature the research model. Unfortunately it is not yet implemented so no tutorial is available for it yet.
